Against Pancreatic Cancer

Announcing a full weekend of fun-filled events at the AAA 5-Diamond Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. A celebration of 17 years devoted to raising awareness and funds in pursuit of more rapid advancement of pancreatic Cancer research in America and across the globe that focuses on earlier detection, innovative treatments that extend patient quality life, and an eventual cure of the worst and most brutal of cancers.

This is not your typical fundraiser. It is an amazing gathering of medical researchers, pancreatic cancer patients, advocates, and sponsors that are like family sharing a dedicated commitment to a cause. Those that have attended a previous events come away with a new-found appreciation of collaboration of purpose and philanthropic generosity that becomes contagious. “The depth of feelings is difficult to put into words” said Roger Magowitz, Founder of the Foundation in honor of his mother, Seena Magowtiz who lost the battle to pancreatic cancer.

The 18th Annual Seena Magowitz Found Golf Classic is much more than a golf tournament. It is a collection of events slated to begin on Friday evening November 6 through Sunday November 8, 2020.

  • A “Meet & Greet” on Friday November 6, 2020.
  • A Saturday morning meeting among patients, Dr. Dan Von Hoff. a world renowned research oncologist & other medical professionals.
  • Dinner and presentations on Saturday evening November 7, 2020
  • A Sunday morning golf tournament at the prestigious PGA TPC StadiumGolf Course on November 8, 2020.

A special treat at this year’s golf tournament is the tournament participants compete on the famous Stadium Course at TPC, home of the PGA Tour’s Phoenix Open, the “World’s Most Attended Event On Grass”.

While the weekend’s subject matter is an undeniably difficult one, anyone who has attended past Seena Magowitz Foundation Golf Classic events can attest that the mood there is anything but disheartening. Live music, interactive events, themed dinners and similar fanfare are just some of what’s in store, and patients with pancreatic cancer success stories also find themselves in the spotlight throughout the weekend, giving hope to others facing similar circumstances. Last year’s Golf Classic saw its highest number of pancreatic cancer patient attendees to date, offering living proof that the efforts and funds raised during this event are helping patients lead longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives.

It’s important to note the Seena Magowtiz Foundation is an all-volunteer organization that is lead by a three full-time staff that who receive no salaries or compensation. The Foundation has no brick and mortar overhead. It low operating expenses assure all net proceeds benefit pancreatic cancer research.
