Survivor: Still Fighting The Battle 2019

The Mattress Firm Foundation spends all year raising funds for clinical trials and creating awareness of this brutal disease. At the 2013 Seena Magowitz Golf Classic, Mattress Firm donated $100,000 to the cause and challenged it peers in the mattress and furniture industries to also make donations to help quicken the pace to discovering an easy way to detect pancreatic cancer, to increase quality life for existing patients, and to ultimately one find a cure to end the pain and the tears.

One of the guest speakers at the conference was Steve Burdge.  He is a father, a son and a husband. He is also a Mattress Firm employee in Kansas City.  At the conference, he took the stage to share his story.

Mattress Firm employees across the country were moved by his strength and bravery.  Stories began circulating of friends, family and other loved ones who have battled, or are continuing to battle, this disease.  And in that moment, the Mattress Firm team decided that it needed a way to show support for Steve and everyone fighting pancreatic cancer.

Steve Burdge also presented his story at the 2013 Seena Magowitz Foundation Golf Classic.
