Samuel "Sam" Chase

Sam Chase Left A Legacy

In 2007, Roger Magowitz and Ray Bojanowski launched The Seena Magowitz Home Furnishings Fund at TGen Foundation. The fund was a tribute to industry leaders that lost their fight to pancreatic cancer. Sam Chase was one of those industry leaders who lost the battle on August 3, 2007.

Roger Magowitz established the fund with a gift of $75,000 and the fund will continue perpetually in memorial to Sam Chase as well as Bruce Lauritsen, Bob Nightengale and Fred Friedman. They were successful businessmen that made such a difference in the world. They helped so many others. The time to hug children and volunteer to help those less fortunate.

Sam Chase was a well-known name in the mattress industry and co-founded the mattress and pillow protection business in 2001. Under the banner of FabricTech, Sam applied his engineering background to design hypoallergenic mattress and pillow pads.

Chase received many accolades throughout his career, including being awarded the honor of Dean of IHFRA (International Home Furnishings Representative Association); Salesman of the Year of IHFRA in NJ; and bestowed the highest award from the Metropolitan Home Furnishings Association of NJ, the Howard Liverwright Man of the Year Award.

"We were all blessed to be a part of Sam's inner circle and to share with him his dreams, vision and passion. He was a loving husband, father and brother to his family. As a business partner, his relentless energy was contagious and will be sorely missed," said Arnold Hershbain, vice president of FabricTech2000.

Sam Chase is survived by his wife, Riva, and his two children, Gary and Beverly.
