‘MISS SHARON JONES!’ AN INSPIRATIONAL DOCUMENTARY
An inspiring experience of resilience. Not only to survive, but an uplifting testament to continuing to live with purpose, conviction, and joy. Join Pancreatic Cancer Warrior Phil Zeblisky and his wife Kathy to see the inspiring new film documentary, “Miss Sharon Jones” created by Oscar-winning director Barbara Kopple. Those who have seen Jones perform immediately know that frailty doesn’t come naturally to her. An extremely talented singer and entertainer, Jones has the onstage charisma of the dynamo James Brown. In spite of Sharon Jones talents, the documentary primarily chronicles on her ongoing battle against pancreatic cancer.
Documentary Trailer Video
Double the inspiration and hope. Share the experience with your host, Phil Zeblisky. Diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer, he was told he likely had but a year to live. But tenacity, will, and courage, Phil joined a clinical trial conducted by TGen and Honor Health Research Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. The trial was funded and sponsored in part by the Seena Magowitz Foundation.
The trial was remarkably successful with an 80% response rate which included a 20% total response rate. All of the metastasis in Phil’s cancer were no longer detectable using standard screening techniques. This change in prognosis allowed Phil to have potentially curative Whipple Surgery in February, 2016. Now 27 months after his initial diagnosis with poor prognosis, he continues with hope the trial results in long term remission. Most importantly Phil is here to share in the love and support of his wonderful family and friends and he has received the greatest gift of all, HOPE.
