A message from Dr. Daniel Von Hoff, M.D., F.A.C.P. This year’s golf tournament in memory of Seena Magowitz comes at a time when her legacy will be reinforced through a new series of pancreatic cancer clinical trials named in her honor.
The Seena trials started this fall here in Arizona and at four other sites across the nation. But wherever the trials take place, we believe our focus on targeting cellular pathways is also symbolic of the idea that many paths, or pathways, could lead to a cure. It will not be one agent that works for all patients, but a combination of agents that target a variety of pathways and produce the desired result — a cure for people with pancreatic cancer.
The Seena trials are funded by our international globalCure initiative, which we began at last year’s tournament celebration in a significant push aimed at eventually finding a way to prevent and cure pancreatic cancer.
I look forward to sharing details with you on December 3rd as we rededicate ourselves to prevent, early detect, and improve the survival and quality of life for our friends who are already fighting this deadly disease
Let’s go global!
