GlobalCure: A Synergy of Passion
Together, we will conquer pancreatic cancer.
Hope is not a strategy. We have to stare this dreadful killer in the eye and
meet it head-on. With an arsenal of leading clinical scientists, the undying
energy of brilliant physicians, medical researchers with laser focus, and a
consortium of advocates that can fuel the engine. A worldwide synergy of
laboratories, organizations, business leaders and individual advocates that
share a relentless passion to get the job done.
The GlobalCure Initiative
Yes, global involvement. A synthesis of unique elements, people, and skill- sets that unleash cooperative action to shorten the journey to the finish-line. The Pancreatic Cancer GlobalCure Initiative acts as an umbrella under which other organizations, businesses, causes and advocates lend support while strengthening and protecting their own individual brands.
The Seena Magowitz Foundation Role
The Seena Magowitz Foundation is proud to be among the charter members and a driving force behind GlobalCure. Roger Magowitz, Founder of Seena Magowitz Foundation is joined by a group of advocate partners that include Jai Pausch, Howard Young, Vincent McBeth, Derrick Hall, Larry Rogers and host of others to help lead this initiative. The objective is inspiring new heights in fund raising to arm the initiative with the tools and technologies it needs to kill pancreatic cancer and put it to sleep forever.
Global Cure Research Platform
TGen's GlobalCure Initiative is an effort totally focused on the cure and prevention of pancreatic cancer by aggressively stepping up research into underlying genetic causes of pancreatic cancer. It will drive an unprecedented number of new therapeutic approaches to patient care, extending life and ultimately a cure.
The initiative extends to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Team (PCRT), an alliance of leading pancreatic cancer physicians and researchers at 44 institutions from around the country and the world. This group of highly-collaborative and innovative researchers unite their cumulative discoveries to advance the development of new approaches to the early detection and life extension in its fight against pancreatic cancer.
Randy and Jai Pausch Initiative, "Randy's Friends"
A key focus of the GlobalCure initiative is evaluating new research opportunities and rapid translation of this information to the PCRT physicians worldwide. This process will be carried out by a team of scholars named in honor of Dr. Randy Pausch, whose battle with pancreatic cancer inspired his delivery of "The Last Lecture." In keeping with Randy's philosophy, the scholars will be housed in TGen's "Dream Big" Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Role of PCRT Members
The PCRT will work with the GlobalCure Foundation staff and volunteer leadership to introduce patients, patient advocates, colleagues and others to the GlobalCure initiative. In partnership, they will educate and engage communities globally to help raise critical funds and awareness for GlobalCure.
PCRT approaches pancreatic cancer head on, utilizing the latest technologies to complement the clinical process. It enables families to make more informed decisions about their loved-one's health care by serving as advocates for patients seeking current information on pancreatic cancer treatment.
GlobalCure International Advisory Leadership
GlobalCure is led by a volunteer, international advisory committee comprised of leading executives, advocates and entrepreneurs, all of whom have been impacted by pancreatic cancer and share a commitment to eradicate this disease.
Their objectives are to lead a critically needed funding effort support the PCRT's current and future initiatives; galvanize patients, patient advocates, individuals and families who have been affected by pancreatic cancer to help raise funds and to mobilize awareness.
Your Help is Needed
While TGen's and Dr. Daniel Von Hoff's efforts to cure pancreatic cancer are quickly advancing, funding is needed to continue forging ahead. Your contributions of time and money will help drive new therapeutic agents into much needed clinical trials and support of life-changing research. The Seena Magowitz Foundation is interested in partnering with individuals, businesses and cause organizations to help conquer pancreatic cancer once and for all.
